Building a Community of Vintage-Lovers Nationwide: Vintage Camper Trailers and Brevo

Paul and Caroline Lacitinola didn’t expect their hobby to turn into the full-time publication and brand it is today. What started as a passion for all things vintage grew into Vintage Camper Trailers, a globally distributed print and digital magazine for collectors, restorers, and admirers of the hobby.

Since publishing the first issue in 2011, Paul and Caroline have grown Vintage Camper Trailers into a community of thousands of vintage-loving trailer enthusiasts, shipping their magazine to subscribers around the world. The couple also hosts several trailer rallies a year, bringing hundreds of members of the vintage camper community together for a weekend of camping, reconnecting, and meeting new people.

Vintage Camper Trailers’ journey with Brevo began in 2019 when Paul and Caroline were looking for a CRM that could handle their large contact base more cost-effectively than their previous provider, Constant Contact. With over 30,000 contacts, the pricing per contact model was proving unsustainable. Brevo’s straightforward approach to email and SMS marketing made it an attractive option.

An approachable solution to keep their community connected

After signing up for a Business plan, Paul and Caroline imported their contacts to Brevo and soon got started designing their campaigns. The simplicity of the platform allowed them to set up their templates and campaign strategy quickly and easily. Paul explains that, “One of the big things we’ve done with Brevo has been developing a real look to our newsletters and brand. The ease of design is a major advantage for us. It makes us look extremely professional, which is important when attracting magazine advertisers and event sponsors.”

Alongside their regular campaigns, Paul and Caroline have several automation flows they use to welcome new subscribers into the VCT family and provide attendees with updates on upcoming rallies. The couple also uses Brevo Meetings to schedule calls with partners and sponsors.

While hosting rallies, the couple sends SMS campaigns via Brevo to make announcements and keep in touch with attendees. “Brevo’s variety of features helps us stay organized, especially in planning and running events where communication is key” explains Paul.

Results beyond email

With Brevo, Paul and Caroline continue to grow their vintage-loving community and develop their thriving business. Thanks to a platform that’s both easy to use and meets their business needs, the couple can dedicate their time to building their community and celebrating their love of vintage. In Paul’s words, “I’m not an expert marketer. I’m a creative. Because of Brevo’s simplicity, I can stay in touch with my audience reliably and consistently. I can access all the tools I need in one place without having to spend hours learning how to use them — it’s approachable.”
